At PosAbilities Center, our Program Instructors help create meaningful days for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role is hands-on, active, and purpose-driven. You will support participants directly, help lead structured activities, keep the day moving, and learn what it takes to grow into a future Program Lead.

About the Role
We are hiring a Program Instructor / Program Lead Trainee to support our daily program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This is a hands-on role with a leadership track. You will support participants directly, help lead activities, assist with transitions, support daily routines, complete documentation, and learn how a high-quality disability services program operates.
This is not a passive “watch the group” position. We need someone who can stay engaged, think ahead, communicate well, and grow into more responsibility.
What You’ll Do
- Support participants during structured activities, daily routines, meals, transitions, and community-based activities.
- Help lead activities focused on life skills, communication, independence, social engagement, recreation, and community participation.
- Use respectful, person-centered support strategies.
- Help keep the program organized, safe, and running smoothly.
- Prepare materials, set up activities, and support daily schedules.
- Complete documentation, attendance tracking, checklists, and notes as assigned.
- Communicate participant needs, staff concerns, and operational issues to leadership.
- Learn how to support staff coordination, daily program flow, role assignments, and documentation systems.
- Participate in training, supervision, team meetings, and leadership development.
- Follow the implementation of ISPs and BSPs.

Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is helpful:
- Disability services
- ABA or behavior support
- Special education
- Human services
- Recreation, camps, or childcare
- Healthcare or social services
- Group facilitation or team leadership
We are also open to candidates with strong leadership potential and the right attitude, even if they are still building experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to work in person Monday–Friday, 8:45 AM–3:15 PM.
- Must be able to pass required background checks.
- Must complete required onboarding and training.
- Must maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Must be able to remain calm and professional in a busy program environment.
Growth Opportunity
This role is designed as a pathway into leadership.
A strong Program Instructor / Program Lead Trainee may grow into roles such as:
- Program Lead
- Program Manager
- Operations Manager
