ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Provides patient assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload.
- Participates in the clinical interdisciplinary team process.
- Provides teaching and training to caregiver staff.
- Is involved in clinical program development and supervises other licensed therapists, assistants, technicians, aides and students as required.
- Reports to work in a timely manner and adheres to policies, procedures, and processes.
- Performs other job duties as needed and/or as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires good computer skills.
- Long term acute care and Rehab experience is preferred.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English via verbal and written means.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must hold a current state Occupational Therapist license.
- BLS certification is required upon hire.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Wrist/Finger Movement (up to 90%)
- Walking, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, and pulling (up to 50%)
- Kneeling, pushing, and reaching (up to 25%)
- Lifting (up to 50 pounds with or without assistance)
- Moderate stress
EXPOSURE RISK: Category I - Jobs in which required tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, tissues or potential spills or splashes. Use of appropriate measures is required for every healthcare provider in these jobs.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, MATERIALS, MACHINES USED: Beds, scales, lifts, tilt tables, hydrocollator, cold packs, ADL equipment/assistive devices, orthotics, splints, prosthetics, blood pressure cuffs, stethoscope, pulse oximeter, ultrasound, Estim electrical stimulator, handheld dynamometer, patient evaluation tools, telephone, facsimile machine, copier, printers, and computers.
