Coriander Designs is a premier custom commercial furniture and millwork/casework fabricator in Woodinville, WA and is looking for skilled 3 axis CNC PROGRAMMER & MACHINE DEPARTMENT LEAD to join our team. Daily Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development & verification of 3 axis CNC programs utilizing Fusion 360 along with set-up, operation, and inspection of all CNC production.
- Oversee and train a team of 3-5 machine operators.
- Maintains specifications by observing machine operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Verify dimensions of machined parts, components and product using precision measuring instruments such as scales, micrometers, telescoping gauges, calipers, fixed gauges, and dial indicators.
- Oversee regular maintenance of machining centers and/or complete weekly maintenance.
- Establish and conduct quality inspections to verify conformance to quality standards.
- Assist the production team on the best methods of construction.
- The flexibility to multitask and knowing how to prioritize work is key.
- You'll enjoy investigating and resolving work-in-process issues with other engineering teammates, sales, and production staff.
- Work with the engineering team on digital models and other machine code not produced out of Fusion 360.
- Help facilitate the materials team to ensure the right materials are ready for the machining department.
- We value learning with humility and should be available to answer questions from the fabricators and receive constructive feedback. It goes two ways, and you'll have the opportunity to recommend, implement, and participate in process improvements exercises for manufacturing processes, equipment utilization, and the like.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years CAM Software (Fusion 360, MasterCAM, etc) experience required.
- Basic knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
- You're comfortable reading production and part drawings, architectural plans, as well as familiarity with a wide variety of materials (mainly non-metallic) and various manufacturing processes.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have a working knowledge of drafting standards using parametric modeling, mathematics, and proper engineering processes.
- Ability to write and edit G-code programs.
- Be able to troubleshoot potential constructability and installation issues and supply alternate solutions when needed.
- Familiarity and experience with the WI, AWI and/or AWS standards is preferred but not required.
Bonus Points if you have these Qualifications:
- 4 and 5-axis machine programming and operation experience.
- Experience in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Solidworks, Bluebeam, Microvellum, or Cabinet Vision is a plus.
- Experience in woodworking and/or cabinetry.
