The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the overall design, implementation, management, maintenance, monitoring, security, and stability of the Health Center's network infrastructure. This is a hybrid remote/in-person position and requires some on-site support at multiple Health Center locations in Manhattan and Queens.
Primary Responsibilities:

Provide overall responsibility for the Health Center's network infrastructure, including network design, implementation, management, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization.

Work with the CIO and IT Director to translate business objectives into network requirements, architecture, and technology enhancements.

Design, organize, install, configure, and support network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VoIP, and SD-WAN environments.

Manage network security, access control, firewall-related controls, and related documentation.
-
Coordinate network security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and cybersecurity-related network improvements.
-
Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and stability.
-
Troubleshoot network issues and provide advanced technical support.
-
Perform network maintenance, updates, upgrades, and lifecycle planning.

Manage relationships with ISPs, telecommunications providers, and external networking vendors.

Maintain appropriate network and password documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, inventory records, and operational procedures in accordance with Health Center policies.

Ensure network disaster recovery preparations, recovery procedures, backups, and supporting documentation are current, tested, and aligned with business continuity requirements.

Maintain accurate network hardware, software, licensing, and equipment inventory documentation.

Supervise, mentor, and train Network Administration staff to ensure adequate coverage, knowledge transfer, and business continuity.

Train other IT staff on assigned network support tasks and standard troubleshooting procedures.

Support network-related compliance, risk management, and audit activities as needed.
Other Responsibilities:

Assist with general IT support as needed.

Support domain, client, and server maintenance.

Support planning and rollout of enterprise systems.

Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of hands-on experience in network administration, network engineering, or related infrastructure support.

Prior experience in help desk support or systems administration preferred.

Previous experience leading, mentoring, or supervising technical staff preferred.
-
Strong technical understanding of the OSI model.
-
Experience with Cisco, Dell, Ubiquiti, and SonicWall network technologies, including routing, switching, wireless, and VoIP.
-
Experience with dynamic routing and switching protocols, such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
-
Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN, WLAN, VoIP, VPN, and SD-WAN infrastructure.

Experience with analysis and monitoring tools, such as Wireshark, Lansweeper, and PRTG.

Familiarity with WAN technologies, such as EVPL, MPLS, VPN, and SD-WAN, including network design, optimization, and support.

Strong understanding of network security concepts, access control, vulnerability remediation, and cybersecurity coordination.

Experience with Arctic Wolf and Darktrace is a plus.
