Duties
- Assist in preparing ingredients and components for meal assembly according to established recipes and menu plans
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers, mixers, ovens, and food processors
- Follow strict food safety standards in handling, storage, and sanitation to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning routines
- Support meal preparation for catering events or daily service by slicing, chopping, portioning, and assembling dishes
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during busy periods
- Adhere to recipe specifications and portion controls to maintain consistency across all food items
Requirements
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and culinary standards in a food service environment
- Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of food handling procedures and food safety management practices
- Experience with knife skills, slicing techniques, and meal preparation in restaurant or catering settings
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and support team goals
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with safety standards in food production and adherence to hygiene protocols
