Member Service Representative Supervisor
Location: Hawaii Kai Branch
Primary Responsibilities:
The Member Service Representative Supervisor manages and directs the daily activity of the teller staff and member service representatives per the established policies and procedures. Ensures that members are served promptly and that the department balances at the end of the business day. Utilizes knowledge and experience in exercising discretion and independent judgment in resolving problems and answering questions.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinates the activities of the Operations and Loan area by assigning work, answering questions, solving problems, helping with complex transactions and sensitive member relations issues.
- Maintains a clear understanding of the Core Processing System and Lending Platform and provides technical assistance to staff.
- Recommends and administers policies and procedures for the Operations Department and Loan Departments.
- Oversees the cash fund, maintaining a proper supply of vault cash, verifying cash received, and maintaining inventory of checks, traveler’s checks, and other negotiable instruments.
- Ensures that each teller balances in total at the close of each business day and all monies and negotiable instruments are secured in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of all applicable regulations and ensuring that applicable policies, procedures, and internal controls are followed by the staff.
- Researches and resolves discrepancies in members’ accounts.
- Assumes the duties of the Operations Manager when that person is not available.
Other Duties:
- Represent HCFCU in community events, as appropriate.
- Actively participate in credit union functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- At least 3 years of previous branch supervisory experience required.
- College degree preferred.
- Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate (both in written and oral form) to both internal customers and external members.
- Works effectively under pressure to meet critical deadlines and make sound decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Strong computer (Word and Excel) skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
