Senior Project Manager – Golden, Colorado
Vulcan Fire is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team in Golden, Colorado. This is a full-time position with standard hours Monday through Friday, plus participation in our on-call rotation.
Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager will oversee Fire Alarm construction projects from planning through completion. This role requires leadership in managing internal teams and subcontractors, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and labor. You will serve as a technical resource for customers, providing training and support to maximize satisfaction.
Responsibilities include interpreting schematics, troubleshooting systems, and executing technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets. Tasks include programming, graphics development, start-up, certification testing, customer training, close-out documentation, and ongoing technical support. The ideal candidate will identify risks, manage costs, and ensure compliance with NFPA regulations, local AHJ requirements, and company safety policies.
This is a performance-driven role requiring strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Satisfaction: Maintain clear communication from project initiation through the warranty period.
- Collaborate with the Sales Team to analyze requirements and develop solutions.
- Support estimating efforts for contract projects.
- Conduct site surveys and review estimates prior to submission.
- Manage operational execution of projects and work orders.
- Oversee the scope of work, change orders, and project documentation.
- Lead project kick-off meetings and coordinate schedules with trades and owners.
- Order equipment, schedule labor, and monitor costs for accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain documentation using Bluebeam and issue close-out documents.
Education & Required Skills
- Proven leadership and decision-making ability.
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA 72.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Computer proficiency and multitasking ability.
- NICET II Certification required.
- Denver CSA Fire Alarm Installer Certification.
- Must pass a 10-panel drug test and a criminal background check.
