Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools while adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, including organizing supplies and preparing ingredients under supervision
- Support food handling and sanitation efforts by following proper cleaning protocols to ensure a hygienic kitchen environment
- Buss tables and clear dining areas efficiently to facilitate smooth service flow
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of dish racks, trash removal, and moving supplies safely according to kitchen health and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, sinks, and storage areas through regular cleaning routines
- Follow all food safety management practices to prevent cross-contamination and uphold sanitation standards in compliance with local health regulations
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are highly valued
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards within a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including dishwashers and basic cleaning tools
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items safely during cleaning or supply restocking
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure all dishes and surfaces meet hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Basic knife skills or familiarity with kitchen tools are a plus but not mandatory
