Bark to Basics is looking for a new team member!
Are you:
Conscientious?
Engaging?
Punctual?
Considerate?
Self-motivated?
Reliable?
Have a Clean driving record?
Kind and Patient?
Do you love being with dogs? Like, really LOVE it?
Are you interested in learning about how they think and interact?
Can you pick up stuff, like poop or a 25lb dog?
Do you have a clean driving record, and at least five years of solid driving experience?
You might be our new team member!
As a team member, you either will either open daycare or drive our van to pick up dogs and transport the dogs safely to daycare. Then you will play with dogs and at the end of the day either close daycare or drive the dogs home again. Sound simple? It kind of IS.
This position is scheduled as full time, five days a week (Monday-Friday), and some schedule flexibility is preferred as you will likely have the option to work extra hours on occasion.
Besides playing with dogs, it will be your responsibility during daycare hours to clean up after them, including -- not gonna lie -- a decent amount of poop pick-up. We all do it. Poop, pee, and barf: you’re going to deal with them. No biggie!
If that doesn’t bother you, then we will be happy to teach you how to supervise dog play, reinforce recall and other rewardable behaviors and manage less desirable behaviors using science-based training methods. The job also requires light cleaning. But in between that other stuff, there is a lot of PLAYING WITH DOGS. You will spend a lot of time actively engaged with the dogs.
Interest in learning more about dog behavior is a BIG plus, but no professional dog-handling experience is necessary. We will train you and send you to class.
What’s in it for you? Well, we are glad you asked:
- Competitive Hourly Rate
- Potential bonuses
- Continuing education allowance
- Free Daycare for your own small dog
- Opportunity for additional income through overnight boarding in your own home.
- PLAYING WITH DOGS!
