REPORTS TO: Dining Services Director or Cook (in the absence of Dining Services Director)
SUPERVISES: No One
QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate for Dietary Aide must possess exemplary work ethics and the ability to assist and interact with seniors in a caring, kind, and respectful manner. Must be able to speak English to the degree that allows for understanding and being understood by Residents. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 40 pounds. Must be able to move about the facility quickly and be able to physically assist Residents and/or staff in the event of an emergency.
Requirements:
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance.

Work hours and shifts as scheduled.

Be available for weekend coverage and on-call emergency situations on a rotating basis.

Be dependable.

Observe and practice proper techniques of body mechanics in lifting and other physical labor.

Wash and sanitize dishes, eating utensils, pots, and pans.

Clean work area and equipment as needed.

Be able to walk or stand for long periods of time.

Reach, handle, and lift food supplies.

Possess ability to withstand outside temperatures for long periods of time.

Organize stock and deliveries as assigned.

Possess ability to withstand temperatures over 85 degrees for long periods of time.

Demonstrate interest in improving skills.

Be able to work well under pressure.

Demonstrate positive attitude and ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly.

Promote a positive work environment that emphasizes team work.

Maintain Resident confidentiality.

Complete tasks in a safe manner, following all safety rules and procedures.

Be familiar with The Park at Bay Area’s Policies and Procedures Manual.

Be familiar with The Park at Bay Area’s Employee Handbook.

Attend all in-services scheduled by the Executive Director or Supervisor.

Be willing to work shifts, days, or positions other than Dietary Aide.

Other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time.
