Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Site Safety & Health Officer to oversee safety protocols and ensure compliance. This vital role involves managing occupational health standards, risk mitigation, and safety procedures to create a secure working environment for all personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organize, and manage the Safety Program.
- Implement and maintain the Safety process that is tailored to the contract and encompasses all facets of the operation.
- Monitor and participate in all areas of operations, including inspecting projects, service work orders, preventative maintenance, and subcontractors.
- Inspect work in progress and any finished work for discrepancies in accordance with the Safety Program and contract requirements.
- Document and track deficiencies found during the Quality Control process and report findings to the customer.
- Maintain Safety files and the documented results of all inspections.
- Recommend changes to management or methods to improve workflow or techniques to enhance the quality of service provided.
- Perform other related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conduct daily safety inspections of personnel, equipment, and work areas.
- Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Site Safety and Health Program, including Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, contract requirements, and company safety policies.
- Conduct daily employee safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare required reports.
- Maintain safety records, training documentation, SDSs, inspection logs, and regulatory reports.
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and enforce PPE requirements.
- Participate in pre-construction, preparatory, and progress meetings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety matters with government representatives, project management, and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain a constant on-site presence during active construction operations when required by contract.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATION
REQUIRED:
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in facilities maintenance; or a minimum of (3) years’ experience plus a Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
- OSHA 30 Hour certification.
- EM-385 1-1 Competent person fall protection certificate
- First Aid/ CPR Certificate
- Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate the work requirements with various staff and subcontractors.
- The ability to prioritize, organize, and work well under stress and maintain deadlines.
- The ability to work flexible hours in order to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of acceptable workplace practices, including occupational safety and health regulations.
- Excellent skills in communicating both orally and in writing with internal and external clients and co-workers.
- Valid state driver’s license with no major infractions.
- Must be able to pass a background check as a condition of employment, and obtain access to federal installations is required.
PREFERRED:
- Experience working on federal contracts or military experience
- Experience with Gadzoom AHA Software
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
- It is mandatory that all Contractor personnel working onsite at federal facilities meet federal government security clearance standards. The Contractor shall submit security clearance information for each employee as required by current government identification card application procedures and future requirements as applicable.
- All employees must be authorized as acceptable under the contracting officer for the prime contract under which this employee is working.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
