About the Role:
EVEN Hotel by IHG Norwalk is looking for a passionate and talented Evening Cook to join our culinary team in Norwalk, CT. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute evening meal service, ensuring quality and consistency across all dishes
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items in accordance with hotel culinary standards
- Supervise and support kitchen staff during evening shifts to maintain smooth operations
- Monitor food inventory, manage prep levels, and minimize waste
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen in compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Collaborate with hotel management on menu development and seasonal specials
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all food products per health code standards
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef, Line Cook, or similar culinary role in a hotel or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, flavor profiles, and presentation
- Familiarity with health-conscious or wellness-focused menu concepts is a plus
- ServSafe certification or equivalent food handler's certification preferred
- Ability to work evening and weekend shifts consistently
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a kitchen team
- Excellent time management and the ability to perform well under pressure
