Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble a variety of hoagies, sandwiches, and wraps according to established recipes and customer specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, grills, toasters, and food prep tools safely and efficiently
- Manage food handling procedures to ensure safety and sanitation standards are maintained at all times
- Take customer orders accurately using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS, process cash transactions, and handle cash register operations with precision
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by regularly sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with food inventory management, restocking supplies as needed, and ensuring freshness of ingredients
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation within quick service or fast food restaurant environments
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing and sales transactions
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy periods
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while adhering to sanitation standards
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in retail sales transactions, upselling techniques, and cash register operations
- Knowledge of food industry standards related to sanitation, bussing, serving, and general kitchen maintenance
- Previous experience working in a café or grocery store setting is a plus
