Overview
We are currently seeking a part time pastry assistants/ pastry interns for a part time role in our fine dining restaurant. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are actively seeking a profession in pastry/ baking who would like to learn and practice hands on in an award winning restaurant. Candidates plate desserts during service, assist the Pastry Chefs with some preparation/ organization. Candidates must be fast learners, extremely reliable, punctual, organized and ready. This is a position for someone who has experience working a busy service and expediting food to guests quickly, efficiently and neatly. Paid training is provided and permanent employment is available to the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Plating/ serving desserts to customers during lunch/ dinner service.
- Service Station set up and Close at the beginning and end of the shifts.
- Support pastry department processes by light production (garnish, sauces, etc) and properly storing baked goods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Ability to multi task, stand for long periods of time and work well under pressure.
- Have a passion for dessert and baked goods! (Cake decorating and cake making is a plus! We love creativity and innovation)
Skills
- Experience in food handling, pastry/ baking, or related culinary roles within the food industry (restaurant service is a plus).
- Skilled in cake decorating techniques and creative presentation styles are a bonus, but not required.
- Dessert plating.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
