Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and clear communication.
- Schedule appointments accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, ensuring optimal clinic flow.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, process payments, and perform medical collection activities in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review and update medical records, ensuring proper documentation review and adherence to clinical confidentiality policies.
- Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information, updating health histories, and explaining treatment plans.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently, including filing, data entry, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
- Support medical billing processes by coding procedures with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding standards for accurate claims submission.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers regarding care plans and follow-up appointments to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area while managing office supplies and clerical tasks such as typing reports and filing documents.
- Uphold clinical confidentiality policies at all times while providing exemplary customer service to patients.
Experience
- Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred, especially in a dental or healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth is essential.
- Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers is required.
- Experience with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) and medical billing is necessary for accurate documentation review and claims processing.
- Bilingual skills are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for administrative tasks.
- Proven ability to provide outstanding patient service while managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
