Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly contribute to delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, friendly environment. As an integral part of our clinic, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient comfort, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your role will be vital in creating a welcoming atmosphere that promotes oral health and confidence for every patient.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards.
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide vital signs monitoring and medical documentation for patients with special health considerations.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical and dental records.
- Use advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging tools to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with the dental team to deliver four-handed dentistry for efficiency and comfort during procedures.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment plans, and post-operative care using clear dental terminology.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment adhering to infection control protocols and anatomy knowledge requirements.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current state licensure or registration.
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry or specialty practice such as pediatrics or prosthodontics.
- Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation standards.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
- Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and aseptic procedures.
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely while maintaining radiation safety protocols.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
