Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, assessing condition changes, and reporting findings accurately
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Support patient mobility using proper manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts and transfer methods
- Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Maintain cleanliness of residents’ living areas and common spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment that promotes mental well-being
- Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety at all times
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), and neurodevelopmental disorders
- Ability to perform patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic first aid/CPR certification
- Familiarity with care plans, HIPAA compliance, manual handling, heavy lifting, and patient transfer methods
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Valid certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional training in hospice or geriatrics is a plus
