Job Description
Starvox Exhibits USA is seeking an organized, and experienced Gift Shop Manager to oversee the day-to-day retail operations of our Art of Banksy exhibit gift shop and help create an exceptional visitor experience.
The Gift Shop Manager will be responsible for supervising retail operations, driving merchandise sales, maintaining inventory, and ensuring guests receive outstanding customer service. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with strong retail experience, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for arts and live experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operation of the exhibit gift shop, including opening, closing, and cash handling procedures
- Lead, train, and supervise gift shop staff to ensure a welcoming and professional guest experience
- Maintain visually appealing merchandise displays that align with the exhibit branding and visitor experience
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, including receiving, restocking, and tracking merchandise
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in minimizing loss and shrinkage
- Deliver exceptional customer service and professionally address guest questions or concerns
- Monitor sales trends and provide feedback on product performance and inventory needs
- Collaborate with management on promotional initiatives and merchandising strategies
- Ensure compliance with all venue, health and safety, and operational policies and procedures
- Assist with light custodial and organizational duties within the retail space as required
- Respond appropriately to emergencies or operational issues as they arise
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Previous retail management or merchandise management experience required; experience in live entertainment, museums, attractions, or arts venues is considered a strong asset
- Strong leadership, customer service, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with inventory management, cash handling, and sales reporting
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Flexible availability, including daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Passion for art, culture, and live experiences is a definite plus
- Experience working with Lightspeed, a plus.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
