Job Description
Position Description:
Print Machine Operators prepare, operate and maintain printing machines. Operators prepare digital files for the printers, monitor machine operation, and keep paper feeders stocked and clear paper jams. Printed material is Quality checked by the operator for color, print quality and consistency. Operators are required to perform preventative maintenance on print machines.
Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Attention to detail and familiarity with electronics and computers are essential for operators.
Position Guidelines:
- Operate and maintain the digital printers
- Operate digital cutter
- Complete finishing for banners, posters, counter cards, etc.
- Set up, monitor and adjust the printing process using the machine interface
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability work overtime on short notice as needed
- Ability to work independently within established process and procedure guidelines to accomplish goals
- Performs general house cleaning of print production area on a daily basis
- Familiarity with all post production processes and equipment
- Assists post production as needed
- And all other duties as assigned
Skills Required:
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic Computer Skills (Software to operate digital press, proprietary software)
- Strong organizational skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Exceptional math skills
- Oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Skills Desired:
- Experience in the print industry, including general post production knowledge
- Understands importance of Quality assurance in printing process
