ROLE AND PURPOSE:
- Serve as assistant to Director in areas of Title III compliance and facilitate the smooth operation of the Title III requirements are met at the district and campus levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
Experience:
- Previous accounting and office experience, including computer skills with Word and Excel
- Be proficient in spoken and written English and Spanish, preferred.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION CLIMATE
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
ADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
- In collaboration with the Director of World Languages, plan distribution of III funds within each grant cycle.,
- Gather fiscal information for preparation of Title III NCLB Consolidated Compliance Report
- Initiate upcoming Title III budget and prepare documents for board approval
- Distribute and monitor Title III accounts at all locations with designated funds
- Monitor and process all budget changes and journal entries with Title III funding
- Coordinate with Payroll to assure correct payment of all personnel paid with Title III funds
- Work in conjunction with Accounting Department to assure accurate and complete reporting of expenditures to TEA.
- Maintain schedule of data preparation to assure reporting within required timelines
- Work in conjunction with the Accounting Department to assure accurate reporting of Title III funds
- Maintain Title III budget, including the compiling, ordering and distributing of materials and supplies to campuses for ELL enrichment program
- Process travel requests and mileage reimbursement for Title III staff.
SCHOOL/COMMUNITY RELATIONS
- Works effectively with Title III District and Department staff
- Works effectively with campus staff from Title III LEA's
- Communicate with principals and secretaries on an ongoing basis to ensure Title III funds are spent appropriately and in a timely manner
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
- Train clerks and secretaries in the use of Title III funds annually and as needed
- Ability to maintain clerical records
- Good organizational and work prioritization skills
- Attend training sessions and staff development to update knowledge and skills.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the World Languages Director
