Duties
- Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, feeding, and hygiene to foster independence and self-care skills
- Implement behavior intervention plans based on principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), ensuring consistency and effectiveness
- Collect accurate data on client behaviors, progress, and responses during therapy sessions to inform ongoing treatment strategies
- Support children with autism and other disabilities in structured teaching activities designed to improve communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors
- Maintain detailed medical documentation, care plans, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards
- Collaborate with supervisors, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of services within home-based or clinical settings
- Promote a safe, respectful environment by adhering to professional conduct guidelines and behavioral health best practices
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodiverse populations is highly preferred
- Home-based behavioral experience or direct work with children in special education settings is advantageous
- Familiarity with data collection methods, behavior management techniques, and ABA principles is essential
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance will support effective documentation practices
- Demonstrated ability to work patiently and compassionately with children on the autism spectrum or with other disabilities
- Experience supporting clients through personalized care plans aligned with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) support strategies
- A background in behavioral health or applied behavioral analysis for children enhances your ability to succeed in this role
