Registered Nurse - Intake & Recovery
The Intake and Recovery Unit serves as a transitional area where patients are prepared for surgery or procedures and are closely monitored during their immediate recovery. Nurses in this unit play a vital role in patient assessment, education, IV starts, medication administration, and ensuring pre-procedure readiness, as well as post-procedure observation, pain management, and discharge planning. The unit cares for both adult and pediatric patients undergoing a wide range of surgical and procedural interventions, including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, cardiac, GI/endoscopic, and interventional radiology cases, prioritizing patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative experience.
Job Summary
Provides safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process. Applies professional standards in ethics, collaboration, leadership, and evidence-based practice. Uses clinical knowledge and skills to meet the needs of their specific unit.
Education
- Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program required
- BSN or MSN preferred
Certification/Licensure
- Active RN license (Required)
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- ACLS within 1 year of hire
Experience
- 1 year of RN experience (Required)
- Previous critical care experience (ICU, ED, etc) (Preferred)
