Duties
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using proper cleaning techniques and sanitizing procedures.
- Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to food safety standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and prep work under supervision.
- Support the bussing team by clearing tables, removing trash, and ensuring the dining area remains clean and inviting.
- Follow all sanitation protocols to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Handle manual lifting of heavy items such as large pots, crates of supplies, or bulk dishware with proper technique to prevent injury.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely cleaning schedules are maintained during busy service hours.
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a restaurant setting.
- Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment and other kitchen appliances safely.
- Strong manual handling skills for heavy lifting, moving supplies, and maintaining cleanliness.
