Position Details
Position: Beginner Carpenter
Pay: $22.00–$26.00 per hour, based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift (Typical hours are 8:00 AM–4:00 PM. Hours may vary depending on project needs.)
Location: Based out of Schuylerville, NY with projects throughout the Capital Region (typically within one hour).
Position Overview
This position is ideal for someone who has some construction experience and wants to become a skilled residential carpenter. You'll work directly alongside experienced carpenters while learning proper building techniques, craftsmanship, job site organization, and customer professionalism.
Every day is different—you'll gain experience working on kitchens, bathrooms, additions, decks, siding, windows, doors, framing, finish carpentry, and complete home renovations.

Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Carpenter with residential remodeling projects
- Learn and perform framing, finish carpentry, decking, siding, window and door installation, trim work, and general carpentry
- Assist with demolition, layout, material installation, and finish work
- Read a tape measure accurately and continue developing blueprint reading skills
- Safely operate hand tools and power tools
- Load, unload, organize, and transport materials
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Follow company safety procedures and OSHA best practices
- Represent Medial Construction Services professionally on customer job sites
QualificationsRequired
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Smartphone required for company timekeeping and communication
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred
- 1–3 years of residential construction or carpentry experience
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Basic knowledge of residential construction methods
- OSHA 10 Certification (or willingness to obtain; training can be provided)
Candidates with less experience who demonstrate a strong work ethic and a genuine desire to learn are encouraged to apply.
