POSITION SUMMARY
Provide safe, efficient, and effective bus transportation for the district's students.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certifications, Licenses or Permits:
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class B with Passenger & Safety (P&S) endorsements required within 60 days of
employment.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE).
Knowledge of basic motor vehicle and school bus operation, local and state traffic ordinances, school bus safety policies
and procedures, vehicle maintenance requirements, records and procedures, Commercial Drivers Manual, FCS Bus Manual,
Georgia School Bus Driver Training Manual, and the FCS Code of Student Conduct required.
Proven ability to work with others in a confidential, cooperative, and service-oriented manner; excellent listening and
communication skills.
Ability to execute repetitive motions.
Ability to work frequently in a seated position.
Ability to maintain a high degree of attention to traffic, road, and safety conditions.
Ability to be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly in emergency situations.
May be regularly required to stand, sit, crouch, bend, crawl, push/pull, and lift up to 50lbs.; greater weights with assistance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Transport students to and from school and other events.
Ensure safety of students while boarding, exiting, and riding the bus.
Clean bus by sweeping, taking out trash and other duties, as necessary.
Perform all required safety inspections.
Fuel buses as needed or in the event of an emergency.
Meet with parents and administration as required.
Keep accurate records as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
