About Us:
United Gunworks is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs to produce high-precision components based on engineering drawings and specifications. You will work closely with our production and engineering teams to ensure the efficient and accurate operation of CNC machines, ensuring the highest quality standards in our products.
Position Overview:
The CNC Programmer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for lathe and horizontal CNC machines. This role requires a thorough understanding of CNC programming, machining processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and production teams to meet project specifications and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and write CNC programs for horizontal and vertical machines CNC machines using G-code and programming software.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents to create accurate and efficient machining programs.
- Set up and calibrate CNC machines, including selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
- Conduct initial runs of CNC programs to verify accuracy and make necessary adjustments to optimize performance and quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machining issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production staff to ensure programs meet production needs and quality standards.
- Maintain documentation of CNC programs, setups, and revisions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in CNC technology to continuously improve programming skills and processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the programming and machining processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Must be able to pass background check

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- 5+ years of experience in CNC programming, specifically for mill CNC machines.
- Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software Mastercam. Experience in using Solidworks is a plus
- Proficient in using CAD/CAM software and CNC programming languages (G-code, M-code).
- Experience with Haas mills (vertical & horizontal 5 axis)
- Experience with dual turret lathes & Swiss type machines is a plus
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and measurement tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform manual tasks as needed.
- Standing/sitting for extended periods and performing repetitive motions during machine setup and operation.
