About the Position
Beauty With Grace is looking for a talented, dependable and personable makeup artist to join our bridal team as an independent contractor.
This position is perfect for someone who loves the wedding industry, enjoys helping women feel confident and wants to grow alongside an established beauty business. We are not simply looking for someone who knows how to apply makeup—we need someone who is professional, trustworthy and capable of creating a calm, enjoyable experience for every client who sits in their chair.
Our weddings take place throughout St. Francois County and surrounding areas, with occasional opportunities for additional travel.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional makeup applications for brides, bridesmaids, mothers and other wedding-party members
- Create polished, long-lasting looks that photograph beautifully
- Arrive on time and fully prepared for each wedding
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized makeup kit
- Follow all sanitation and infection-control standards
- Communicate professionally with the bride, wedding party and Beauty With Grace
- Help keep the wedding-day timeline running smoothly
- Represent the Beauty With Grace brand in a positive and professional manner
- Take quality photos or videos of completed work when time allows
- Be willing to promote your work and Beauty With Grace on social media
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience applying makeup to clients is strongly preferred
- Bridal or special-event makeup experience is a plus
- A portfolio or social media page showing your work
- A reliable form of transportation
- Availability for early mornings, weekends and occasional travel
- Strong time-management and communication skills
- Confidence working with different ages, skin types, skin tones and personal styles
- A friendly, calming and professional personality
- Someone who is dependable and understands the importance of showing up for a bride’s wedding day
- A willingness to receive feedback and follow Beauty With Grace’s service standards
Formal cosmetology or esthetics licensing is welcomed but not required for makeup artistry in this role. Relevant education, certifications and professional experience should be included with your application.
Compensation
This is a commission-based, independent-contractor position.
Current associate service compensation is:
- $75 per bridal makeup application
- $60 per bridesmaid, mother or additional makeup application
- 100% of tips earned
- Travel compensation when applicable
The number of services and total compensation will vary depending on the size and location of each wedding.
Contractor Requirements
The selected artist will be responsible for:
- Providing and maintaining their own professional makeup kit and tools
- Maintaining appropriate sanitation supplies
- Tracking and reporting their own income and taxes
- Carrying professional liability insurance
- Maintaining dependable transportation for on-location weddings
