Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide expert guidance on product selection based on individual needs and preferences
- Conduct engaging product demonstrations and explain the benefits of various items to enhance customer understanding and satisfaction
- Manage retail sales transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems, including cash handling, cash drawer management, and processing retail math calculations
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and maintaining organized product displays to ensure an attractive shopping environment
- Perform retail store product knowledge updates regularly to stay informed about new products and industry trends
- Upsell complementary products and promote ongoing promotions to maximize sales opportunities
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while addressing customer questions or concerns
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail sales transactions
- Strong supervisory skills or supervising experience in a retail setting is preferred
- Ability to perform product demos confidently and educate customers effectively
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence and active listening
- Knowledge of retail store merchandising, stocking procedures, and inventory management
- Basic math skills for retail math calculations, cash handling, and balancing cash drawers accurately
- Familiarity with cannabis or alternative wellness products is a plus but not required; willingness to learn industry-specific knowledge is essential
- Demonstrated phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone or in person
