BlairTech is the world's largest Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR), specializing in the refurbishment and resale of business-class computers from Dell, HP, and Lenovo. In addition to refurbished systems, the company designs and builds new custom gaming computers under its Periphio brand.
Our products are sold through major ecommerce marketplaces including Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and others, as well as our own website.
We operate high-volume production lines that process thousands of computers per month. Our mission is to provide high-quality, affordable computing while extending the lifecycle of enterprise technology through sustainable refurbishment.
Role Summary
The Operations Manager will oversee all operational functions of BlairTech, with primary responsibility for our refurbished computer production lines and gaming PC manufacturing line.
This leader will ensure daily order output targets are met while maintaining extremely high product quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on operations leader with a manufacturing background who thrives in environments where processes must be designed, improved, and scaled.
This role requires someone who can both run the existing operation and build the next version of it.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations Leadership
- Lead daily operations for refurbished computer production and new gaming PC production.
- Manage and develop three existing production leads (two refurbished, one gaming).
- Own daily production output and ensure all orders are fulfilled on schedule.
- Establish and maintain an organized, clean, and highly efficient production environment.
- Ensure workstations, inventory areas, and production floors maintain operational discipline and organization.
Process Development & Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all production processes.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements in workflows, technology, and production methods.
- Collaborate with IT and software development teams to integrate tools that improve operational efficiency.
- Lead the transition from the company's current internal software to a new operational platform.
Inventory Management & Control
- Own all operational inventory including refurbished units, gaming components, and parts inventory.
- Implement and manage cycle count procedures and monthly physical inventory counts.
- Prevent inventory loss and ensure accurate tracking of all assets.
- Validate and document any inventory that must be written off or recycled.
- Maintain organized storage systems for both finished goods and parts inventory.
Quality Control
- Own the company's quality assurance process for all outgoing computers.
- Build and staff a dedicated quality control process to ensure extremely low return rates.
- Monitor product return data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Shipping & Logistics Oversight
- Monitor freight costs and shipping practices to ensure operational efficiency.
- Work closely with the shipping department to optimize packaging, carrier selection, and freight spend.
Hiring & Team Development
- Hire, train, and manage all operations personnel.
- Develop team leads and build scalable staffing models for production growth.
- Maintain a high-performance operational culture focused on accountability and improvement.
Holiday Production Planning
- Collaborate with leadership to forecast inventory and production needs for peak holiday season demand.
- Plan production ramps months in advance to ensure adequate inventory levels for Q4.
- Adjust staffing and production throughput to meet seasonal demand spikes.
IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) Development
- Oversee and build the company’s IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) program.
- Develop operational processes for processing corporate-retired IT equipment.
- Hire and manage staff to support ITAD intake, testing, refurbishment, and resale preparation.
- Build scalable workflows for both wholesale and direct-to-consumer resale channels.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
- 7–15+ years of operations or manufacturing leadership experience
- Experience managing production lines or manufacturing teams
- Strong background in inventory management and operational controls
- Experience implementing or migrating operational software systems
- Proven ability to build processes and systems from incomplete structures
