Maine School Solutions runs approved day treatment programs licensed by the Maine Department of Education as special-purpose private schools. MSS is seeking student-centered Behavioral Health Professionals at the Pineview Learning Center (PLC) to work one-on-one with K-6 students with diverse academic and functional needs in an ABA-based program. The student population at PLC includes learners with global and developmental delays, including level 2 and 3 autism.
Position: Student Support Specialist
Education Requirements:
- $23-$25/Hr - Ed-Tech I - High School Diploma
- $23-$27/Hr - Ed-Tech III - 90+ College Credits (3 years of college)
- No Certification Required - We will train!
Location: Monmouth, ME

Job Description:
- Assist students in achieving academic success by providing our students regular guidance, mentoring, and support in the classroom and in 1:1 situations.
- Assist students with tasks of daily living and the development of communication skills (sometimes through PECs or AAC devices).
- Participate as a member of our education and treatment teams which facilitate student individualized programs books with academic and functional goals.
- Complete daily documentation, including data tracking, daily progress notes, and incident report writing.
- Provide behavioral support based on each student's individual treatment plan which may include de-escalating tough situations and performing physical restraints to maintain student and staff safety (state-approved training provided on-site)
- Promote school pride by helping maintain a clean and welcoming facility.
- Make a difference in the life of children while growing as a person and a professional.
Our Philosophy:
At Maine School Solutions, we provide individualized therapeutic support and educational services to those students identified as special education and that have not been successful in public school in grades K–12. All students have an assigned school social worker and are supported by Behavioral Health Professionals (BHP), Special Education Teachers, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists.
