American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring prior travel experience and the ability to float across multiple ICU environments.
-
Float pool role covering a variety of ICU settings including neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, and progressive critical care unit (PCCU)
-
May also care for ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
-
Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
-
Every other weekend required

Rotating holiday coverage required
-
Uses Epic EMR
-
Floating to multiple ICU units required
-
Active NY RN license required at time of consideration

BLS certification from AHA or RQI required
-
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Level I trauma center experience strongly preferred
-
Experience floating across a variety of ICU units highly desired
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

US Social Security Number required (Canadian SIN not accepted)

Medical exemption signed by a licensed professional required for flu declination (personal or religious exemptions not accepted)

Must complete a competency test within 24 hours of consideration

Provide critical care nursing coverage across multiple ICU units as part of a float pool team

Navy blue scrubs required

Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius are not eligible, specifically those in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington counties

First-time travelers will not be considered for this role

48-hour work weeks may be available for interested candidates

No blocked scheduling permitted

More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week contract period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks of the last call-out
