Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist
Location: Springfield, MA 01199
Travel Pay Range: $2,110 - $2,160 per week
Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts, 36 hours/week
Role Overview:
Seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical teams in a fast-paced operating room environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of surgical technology experience with strong expertise in total joint procedures, hip and knee surgeries, and Neuro/Spine cases. This role requires excellent sterile technique, surgical instrumentation knowledge, and the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience required.
- Current CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Demonstrated experience with total joint procedures required.
- Strong experience with hip and knee surgeries required.
- Neuro/Spine surgical experience required for travel assignment consideration.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile technique, surgical counts, and operating room procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and patient-safety skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled procedures.
- Maintain strict sterile technique throughout surgical procedures and ensure compliance with infection-control standards.
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and maintain efficient workflow throughout each case.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and procedural requirements for multiple specialties.
- Support total joint, hip and knee, and Neuro/Spine surgical procedures.
- Perform surgical counts and maintain accurate accountability of instruments, sharps, and supplies.
- Assist with room turnover, cleaning, sterilization, and preparation for subsequent surgical cases.
- Prioritize patient safety and communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia personnel, and other members of the perioperative team.
