Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will lead the development of accurate and competitive project estimates, ensuring the successful bidding and execution of diverse construction projects. Duties
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project scope documents.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop precise pricing models and bid proposals.
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and risk assessments to ensure accurate budgeting.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine project scope, negotiate pricing terms, and establish competitive bids.
- Manage cost control processes throughout the project lifecycle to monitor expenses and identify potential savings opportunities.
- Review and interpret construction contracts, ensuring all estimates align with contractual obligations and project requirements.
- Lead negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Support project management teams by providing detailed estimates that inform scheduling, resource allocation, and procurement strategies.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software tools.
- Extensive knowledge of construction site operations, including cost control, safety protocols, and on-site coordination.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to establish mutually beneficial agreements with vendors and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with contracts, legal considerations in construction projects, and project management practices.
- Hands-on experience in construction or related fields is highly desirable to enhance estimate accuracy and site understanding.
