Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to the developmental needs of toddlers, incorporating literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that promotes exploration, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that support language development, fine and gross motor skills, and early childhood milestones.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, discuss developmental goals, and address any concerns or questions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of child development progress, behavior reports, and classroom activities in accordance with mandated reporting laws.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed diligently; administer first aid and CPR when necessary to safeguard children's well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan special events, assessments using standardized testing where appropriate, and inclusive strategies for children with special education needs or requiring early intervention services.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is essential; at least one year of classroom experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Experience developing curriculum content that includes literacy education, math instruction (including basic numeracy), and physical activity programs.
- Familiarity with special education practices and early intervention programs to support diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and teamwork within a collaborative environment.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is highly valued.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws ensures compliance with legal requirements related to child welfare.
