The Idaho Institute of Gender and Sex Therapy is a specialty outpatient mental health practice dedicated to providing affirming, compassionate, and evidence-based care. Our clinic specializes in sex therapy, gender therapy, LGBTQIA2S+ affirming care, couples counseling, and related mental health services.
We are looking for a friendly, organized, and dependable Front Desk Office Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, creating welcoming environments, and keeping office operations running smoothly.
Position Overview
This role has two primary responsibilities:
1. Front Desk & Client Support
We are seeking someone who is warm, personable, and enjoys interacting with others. As the first point of contact for many clients, you will help create a welcoming and affirming environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting and checking in clients
- Answering phone calls and responding to texts and emails in a timely manner
- Providing information about services and assisting prospective clients
- Maintaining a professional, compassionate, and inclusive atmosphere
- Supporting clinicians and clients with general administrative needs
2. Administrative & Office Operations
This position also requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling appointments and managing provider calendars
- Collecting payments and processing client statements
- Sending and receiving faxes and other documentation
- Assisting with insurance and administrative paperwork as needed
- Maintaining office supplies and completing weekly supply runs
- Keeping records organized and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time
- Perform routine office cleaning duties, including maintaining waiting areas and shared spaces
Qualifications
Required:
- Excellent customer service and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively
- Comfortable working in a mental health setting where topics related to sex, sexuality, relationships, and gender are discussed for educational and therapeutic purposes
- Professionalism, reliability, and punctuality
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn office software systems
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, communicate effectively with providers and staff, and contribute to a positive, supportive, and team-oriented work environment.
Preferred:
- Previous front desk, receptionist, or administrative experience
- Experience working in a medical, behavioral health, or healthcare office
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
- Experience with scheduling systems, electronic health records, or insurance processes
- Experience with social media management, content creation, and digital design

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
