Job Summary
Cooley Transport is looking for an experienced flatbed driver to join our team. Anyone with 2 YEARS of FLATBED SPECIFIC verifiable experience is welcome to apply. If you do not have flatbed experience, you will not be considered. We are looking for a clean driving record, no DOT reported accidents, and a clean DOT safety report.
Duties
- Safely operate flatbed trucks across assigned routes, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and route details in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery times while considering road conditions and load requirements
- Collaborate with dispatch teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in driving a flatbed, conestoga experience is a plus
- Ability to tarp and strap equipment
- Excellent driving record with a solid understanding of commercial driving regulations
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures including securing loads on flatbeds for safe transit
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Strong communication skills for coordinating deliveries and reporting issues effectively
Pay: $0.56 - $0.60 per mile
