Overall Purpose: The Manufacturing Engineer will develop and improve the manufacturing process by studying Hydraflow’s products and manufacturing methods.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the manufacturing process by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from operators
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and researching, designing, modifying and testing manufacturing methods and equipment
- Refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to areas of production
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment lay out
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, establishing standards and confirming manufacturing processes
- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules and estimating future requirements
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Maintain excellent team-oriented working relationships among all Hydraflow employees
- Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines and behaviors
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation and advising management on needed actions
- Adhere to 5S Standards
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety
