Join Our Team as Recycling Technician
The Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission (OFRPC) is seeking a hardworking and reliable Recycling Technician to join our team at the Ozark Foothills Recycling Center in the Poplar Bluff industrial park. This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) that plays a vital role in our regional resource recovery and sustainability efforts.
Position Summary:
As a Recycling Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the facility, including operating trucks to collect recyclables, processing materials on the shop floor, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Logistics & Collection: Safely operate collection trucks and equipment to transport materials and service regional recycling trailers.
- Facility Operations: Assist with the daily intake, sorting, and processing of recyclable materials.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform operator-level maintenance, cleaning, and routine checks on facility machinery and vehicles.
- Public Service: Interact with residents in a professional manner, ensuring community members follow material acceptance guidelines.
- Safety & Compliance: Supervise work areas and ensure all operations adhere to safety protocols and MDNR grant requirements.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- CDL License: Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of mechanics and the ability to operate power tools and warehouse equipment.
- Operational Skills: Forklift experience is preferred.
- Customer Service: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with the public.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour.
- Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Benefits: This is a salaried position that includes health insurance, MoLAGERS retirement plan, and paid state holidays.
