The department seeks to hire a smart, experienced, hardworking, and dependable Human Resource Specialist Senior.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides professional support for human resource programs within the Kentucky Department of Education. Through execution of technical assistance, processing, researching, coordinating and responding to employees, management and executive leadership, learn and gain experience in all areas of Human Resource Administration. Coordinates the Employee Performance Evaluation process for the agency. Disseminates information regarding evaluations to supervisors. Maintain supervisor contact list for ease of distribution. Contacts new supervisors about Performance Matters training and schedule training.
- Provide technical assistance to various levels of leadership regarding grievances, employee performance evaluations, and payroll procedures in accordance with personnel rules and laws. Serve as security contact between KDE and the Personnel Cabinet. Conducts desk audits.
- Coordinates, reviews and processes personnel actions, payroll and employee benefit documents and conducts audits when required. Ensures required documentation is attached. Ensures accuracy of personnel actions. Creates, routes and approves internal agency documents (EPA and EEO forms) re: employee actions and job interviews.
- Serves on interview panels.
- Enters position establishments in KHRIS after reviewing and ensuring that the job duties are in alignment with the requested job classification.
- Processes personnel payroll and benefits for assigned offices. Runs payroll reports for self-time entry. Receives and reviews benefit documents.
- Conducts orientation meetings and exit interviews for the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
