Fitter / Fabricator

Extreme Steel, Inc. is a growing AISC-certified structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabricator and erector serving the DC, Virginia, and Maryland areas. We are looking for motivated, dependable individuals to join our team as Fitter / Fabricators.
What You'll Do
- Measure, lay out, align, and fit fabricated metal components according to blueprints and shop drawings.
- Position and move steel materials using overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Prepare steel for welding using grinders and other fabrication tools.
- Weld components according to blueprints and project specifications.
- Finish metal work by removing slag, weld spatter, and excess weld material.
- Perform general cleaning and housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Assist with general fabrication and production operations as needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of structural steel fitting or fabrication experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Experience using grinders and other fabrication tools.
- Welding experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule & Compensation
- Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience and skill level.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
