Cocktail Server – Downtown Asheville (Evening Position)
Schedule: Evenings, Wednesday–Sunday
Compensation: Hourly rate + shared tip pool

About the Position
An intimate jazz cocktail lounge in downtown Asheville is seeking a professional Cocktail Server to join its team. Our venue offers thoughtfully crafted cocktails, live jazz performances, and an elevated guest experience in a listening-room atmosphere. We're looking for someone who is warm, polished, attentive, and genuinely enjoys hospitality. The ideal candidate understands that great service is about anticipating guest needs while maintaining efficiency and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Provide knowledgeable, attentive table service throughout each guest's visit
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and deliver them promptly
- Develop a working knowledge of our cocktail, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverage menus
- Make thoughtful recommendations and answer guest questions with confidence
- Maintain awareness of the dining room and proactively anticipate guest needs
- Ensure tables remain clean, organized, and properly reset throughout service
- Assist with opening, closing, side work, and daily cleaning responsibilities
- Work closely with bartenders and fellow team members to maintain smooth service
- Handle guest concerns professionally and communicate operational issues to management
- Maintain cleanliness and organization while following ABC regulations and sanitation standards
- Contribute to a welcoming, polished atmosphere that reflects the standards of the venue
Qualifications
- Previous serving experience in a restaurant, cocktail bar, or upscale hospitality environment preferred
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Availability Wednesday–Sunday evenings
