As a full-time Security Officer at Commonwealth Alternative Care, you will ensure the safety and security of employees, visitors, and company assets. This role involves monitoring premises through surveillance systems, conducting security checks, and enforcing security policies to maintain compliance and prevent loss. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Issue badges for visitors who enter the building. Ensure that all visitors are properly signed in/out using the correct procedure. Visitors must be escorted by a CAC employee.
- Maintain accurate employee check-in/ check-out logs in accordance with established procedures.
- Support and uphold company directives related to employee badging protocols.
- Serve as a primary point of leadership during emergency situations, including severe weather, power outages, fires, disturbances, and building lockdowns.
- Operate the company’s camera surveillance system to monitor all activities occurring on company property.
- Ensure that all employees comply with established security standards and procedures.
- Conduct perimeter tours of designated areas (30A, 30B, and 16 Mozzone) at the beginning and end of each shift. Perform routine facility walkthroughs throughout the day. Inspect perimeter fencing, gates, and barriers for signs of damage or tampering, and promptly document and report any unusual activity at Post 2 or other critical locations.
- Oversee all safety and security protocols during business opening and closing operations.

Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High School Diploma required.
- 1-2 years of experience in security management, law enforcement, or loss prevention.
- Ethical and conscientious individual who leads with integrity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to utilize security systems.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
- Proven leadership and supervisory abilities to ensure safety and compliance.
- Every job applicant must pass a comprehensive background check, including the mandates of the local cannabis control commission. A job offer issued before the completion of a background check shall be contingent upon a positive result. A negative background check result may lead to the withdrawal of the job offer.
- Must be willing and able to occasionally work a flexible schedule as the business needs demand, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Lift up to 25lbs.
- Ability to perform facility walkthroughs and inspections.
- Exposure to outdoor elements and seasonal conditions.
- The employee must be able to sit or stand for long durations and perform essential physical functions, including kneeling, stooping, bending, and twisting within confined or restricted spaces.
- The employee must be able to work in hot, humid environments and tolerate exposure to workplace elements such as dust, allergens, and water.
