Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for students, particularly in preschool and special education settings. This role requires strong communication skills, a commitment to student development, and the ability to work collaboratively with educators and families.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational requirements.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and structured environment conducive to learning.
- Engage with students through hands-on activities, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Help plan and execute lesson plans that incorporate various subjects including Math, ensuring all students are actively participating.
- Provide care for toddlers, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the day.
- Communicate effectively with lead teachers regarding student progress and any concerns related to individual needs or behaviors.
- Work closely with students on the autism spectrum, employing strategies that promote inclusion and understanding within the classroom.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
Experience
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children or in special education settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with curriculum development processes and lesson planning techniques is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom effectively while promoting positive behavior among students.
- Experience communicating with parents or guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities is a plus.
- A background in working with students who have autism or other developmental challenges is advantageous.
