We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining accurate records.
- Support internal controls compliance, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements, to safeguard company assets.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, or UltiPro to streamline financial operations and data entry tasks.
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies or inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Assist with audit preparations by providing documentation and explanations for financial transactions.
- Collaborate with human resources on benefits administration and payroll management using systems like ADP or Kronos.
- Participate in non-profit or governmental accounting activities as needed, ensuring adherence to specific regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting standards.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, Ceridian, or UltiPro.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Kronos and benefits administration processes.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable workflows and account reconciliation procedures.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Proficiency in double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, 10-key typing for data entry accuracy, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Experience working with SOX compliance standards and internal controls frameworks.
