Position Summary
The Procurement Specialist II is an intermediate-level procurement role responsible for sourcing aircraft parts, components, and materials from a global supplier base in support of SOI Aviation's government and commercial aviation clients. This role requires demonstrated procurement experience in aviation or a related technical field and the ability to independently manage a full quoting and sourcing workload with minimal supervision. ● Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and quantities with suppliers to secure favorable terms for the Company and its clients.
● Manage a higher volume and complexity of procurement requests, including urgent or Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) sourcing needs, with minimal supervision.
● Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of supplier communications, pricing history, and order status within the ERP system.
● Track open purchase orders, expedite deliveries as needed, and proactively communicate delays or issues to internal stakeholders.
● Collaborate with the Sales, Procurement, Logistics, and Operations teams to support customer quotations and order fulfillment.
● Identify and qualify alternative or backup suppliers to improve sourcing flexibility and mitigate supply chain risk.
● Support compliance with Company procurement policies and procedures, and maintain awareness of applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., FAR, DFARS, ITAR, EAR) relevant to government and defense-related sourcing; escalate compliance, certification, or export-control questions to the Procurement Manager or Compliance team.
● Assist in onboarding and informally guiding junior Procurement Specialists on sourcing procedures, ERP usage, and supplier communication best practices.
● Prepare status updates and reporting on assigned sourcing activity, supplier performance, and procurement metrics as requested by management.
● Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
