American Legion Apache Post 27 provides services to military veterans and their families including a place to build community, socialize, have a good meal and enjoy a variety of entertainment. We are currently accepting applications for Kitchen Manager. Our search is for a working Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen staff in providing our guests with a variety of well-prepared meals that help create an enjoyable dining experience. The position offered is full-time, year round covering the high volume winter season as well as the off season. The right candidate will be enthusiastic, creative, and able to adapt as changes arise. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, ensuring efficient team management and staff training.
- Oversee food preparation processes to guarantee consistent quality and presentation aligned with brand standards.
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.
- Operate POS systems for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across all kitchen areas.
- Coordinate shift schedules, manage labor costs, and oversee daily operations to meet service goals.
- Implement food production procedures for various service styles including quick service, casual dining, fine dining, catering, and banquet events.
- Train staff on food handling techniques, safety protocols, customer service excellence, and operational procedures.
- Monitor customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly to uphold high satisfaction levels.
- Assist in budgeting activities and contribute to the development of strategies that enhance overall restaurant performance.
- Support management in interviewing candidates and onboarding new team members.
Qualifications
·Current Food Safety Manager's License
·Inventory management experience.
· Prior experience supervising, recruiting, scheduling, and training staff.
· Ability to streamline kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times.
· Prior menu development and costing experience.
· Proven ability to develop protocols and procedures to maintaining correct cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen in accordance with state regulations and verify that staff is maintaining proper sanitation levels.
· Prior experience in tracking kitchen finances and the ability to recognize areas of potential waste including but not limited to staffing patterns.
· Ability to execute menu and recipes to ensure consistent quality.
· Experience in establishing food presentation technique(s) and quality standards.
· Experience in maintaining proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
· Experience overseeing special catering events and may also offer food preparation instruction and/or demonstrate food preparation techniques.
· Clean & professional appearance and ability to make a positive impact on employees and customers.
· Adaptability: ability to remain flexible and adaptable to changes in the dining room environment, such as menu updates or unexpected rushes.
· Ability to handle pressure, remain calm and composed and maintain professionalism during demanding situations.
· Physical stamina, ability to stand and walk for extended periods typically four hours or more during a shift.
