Position: Trailer Mechanic
Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, our family-owned mill produces more than 70,000 tons of paperboard annually. Our products are used in a variety of industries including paper boxes, game boards, puzzles, book covers, and tablets. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair dry van trailers, including brakes, wheel seals, hubs, bearings, suspension, axles, and slider assemblies.
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs to ICC bumpers, mud flap brackets, dolly legs, doors, roofs, flooring, rub rails, and trailer panels.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, lighting, ABS, and air brake systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and DOT annual inspections.
- Inspect outgoing trailers for FMCSA compliance.
- Assist with repairs to tractors and forklifts as needed.
- Respond to road calls when necessary.
- Maintain repair records and assist with inventory control.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of trailer mechanic experience.
- Experience with welding and fabrication.
- Knowledge of air brakes, ABS, suspension, wheel ends, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance.
- Experience with dry van trailers required; flatbed and walking floor experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
- Must provide own tools.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
