Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix software.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage sterilization of instruments and adhere to aseptic techniques.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient office operations.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to general dentistry and prosthodontics is advantageous.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry or as a dental receptionist is a plus.
- Proficiency in using Dentrix software or similar dental management systems is beneficial.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and safety protocols in a clinical setting.
