Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks tractor-trailers, for local and regional deliveries within Houston.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections on vehicles to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns before each route.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route status, delivery updates, or any issues encountered during trips.
Experience
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as tractor-trailers, Dry Van Trailers or refrigerated trailers on local or regional routes.
- Prior delivery driving experience with knowledge of logistics cargo handling and truck loading/unloading procedures.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, and safety protocols related to commercial truck driving.
- Experience with manual transmission trucks preferred; ability to perform manual handling tasks safely is essential.
- Ability to adhere strictly to safety standards
