Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder/Grinder to join our manufacturing team in Galion, OH. This is a combined Welder/Grinder role. We have steady but balanced demand for both welding and grinding — this is not two separate full-time positions. You will fabricate, repair, and finish metal components and castings for our custom ceramics machinery in a stable day-shift environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG/TIG welding on steel and other metals
- Operate grinders, sanders, and other finishing tools to prepare, smooth, and polish metal parts to precise dimensions and surface finish specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols
- Fabricate and assemble components for custom extruders, pugmills, cutters, and other equipment
- Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet our high standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Collaborate with our small team on production and custom projects
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience in MIG/TIG welding and metal grinding/finishing in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Ability to consistently produce high-quality welds and surface finishes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong welding and grinding skills during the interview process (weld/grind test).
